President
Edyie Koonan, a resident of Atlanta for more than four decades, started her real estate career right before the major economic downturn of 2008. But that didn’t stop her from becoming one of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association’s Top Producers in her first year as a real estate agent — a rare accomplishment — and she quickly became a Life Member. She has a strong record of community service, including her executive board membership for the Jewish Educational Loan Fund and her past role as the chair of the Atlanta Jewish Foundation. She and her husband Steve (the CEO of the Atlanta Hawks and the State Farm Arena) were honored with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Atlanta’s Citizens of the Year Award.
RASHELLE BERRY

Rashelle Berry is a nutrition manager for the Feeding Program at Marcus Autism Center, a nutritionist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, a clinical advisor at Beaming Health, an accreditation reviewer for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and a board member of the State of Georgia Board of Examiners of Dietitians. She is a two-time alumna of Emory University, having earned a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Rashelle also earned a Master of Science in Nutrition from Georgia State University. She started her career at the American Cancer Society, where she worked as a field initiatives manager.
EMILY STERNER SAUERTIEG
Emily Sterner Sauertieg has deep roots in Atlanta and is the owner of the lunch delivery company, Sweet Em’s. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Emory University and a Master of Arts in Music Industry from the University of Miami. Emily was the young adult and book festival coordinator for the Marcus Community Center of Atlanta, the assistant orchestra director at Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, and has interned at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, EMI Music, and the New World Symphony. She has been a performance cellist and a cello instructor.
CHARLIE KAUSS
Finance Chair
Charlie Kauss, a trustee of the Weber School and finance committee chair for the Camp Judaea Board of Directors, is also involved in multiple areas of finance in his professional life. He is a founding partner and principal of Vega Strategic Ventures and a co-founder and principal of Eco-Capital Advisors. Charlie started his career at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and has worked for Jamestown and Timbervest. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Investments, and Banking from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
JOSH FRIEDENSOHN
Fundraising Chair
Josh Friedensohn works closely with private owners of real estate assets in his role as a founding partner of Greenleaf Management. Previously, he worked as a raw materials researcher at Kimberly-Clark. In that role, Josh focused on global procurement and vetting raw materials suppliers from South America and Asia. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
